marree is a sort of fearless. she's never known that certain emotion. of course, being so tall, there isn't much she should fear. most other horses are intimidated by pure height alone; they turn and run once they actually start talking to her. she is not like other horses, to say the least. she has large, brown eyes that she stares at you with, trying to decide who you are. not that they are very deep or intelligient; just sort of unnerving. marree is quite slow to anger. actually, she is slow all around. she doesn't comprehend things like a normal horse; hints are lost on her. stallions don't catch her eye, either. never once has she felt the need to show off (which wouldn't be hard for her; she has a beautiful trot, being a saddlebred and all) in front of one, and though some of them have disgusted her, that is the deepest emotion a stallion has made her feel. stallions do pay attention to her, a few try and seduce her, but of course, being the oblivious mare she is, marree just blinks a few times and the stallions slowly edge away before they get themselves in too deep with--let's put it nicely--not the sharpest crayon in the box. marree is also the most curious horse you've met. she often gets herself into trouble that way, whether it's as minor as sticking her nose down a fox's hole, or wandering too far and finding herself with a herd of darks. most of the time she's had someone to look for her. because, even though she only appears it and does not actually mean it, she has a death wish

history;
i'll tell you a little story. it goes like this:
once upon a time, there was a little princess. her mother called her a gem, which made the little princess giggle.
but one day, the princess's castle was taken over. her parents died and her kingdom crashed. she wasn't scared, just confused.
why was this happening? why were they so mean?
a new king took over her kingdom. he had a son, her age. he said one day her and his son would rule.
but she didn't want to rule the terrain with his son. she wanted an adventure...
the new king 'adopted' the princess, and forced his own son upon her. she despised him from the minute she met him, but her nana kept her in check.
her old nana, whom she loved dearly. her nana was the one to keep the princess out of trouble and out of the king's sight, or at least attempt to. the princess always managed to find a way to get in trouble.
the princess ran away one night. it was after a bloodthirsty beast attacked, killing her nana.
the princess was heartbroken, and wept for her nana for hours before taking off in the cover of nightfall.
the princess was a speady little thing, and was far away before anyone knew she was gone. the king sent his knights out looking for her, but she was far too good a hider to be found. so, the princess became a renegade.
