Shyli Flats

In a crook of the river a wide floodland rests, smooth and straight as far as the eye can see. Once part of the forest, the burnt trees have been swept away by the recent floods; what remains is a stretch of hard-baked earth, sporting only a few resilient shrubs and sparse patches of grass. The flats are a relatively lush terrain, but are dangerously exposed to floods.
